16-year-old accused of sending threatening text to Del Oro High staff member

LOOMIS, Calif. — A teenager was arrested in connection with a threatening text message sent to a Del Oro High School Staff member Tuesday.

According to the Placer Union High School District, school officials were notified of a potential threat to a staff member at Del Oro High School on Sept. 10.

Deputies investigated the alleged threat and identified a 16-year-old student as the suspected source of the text.

The student was taken into custody.

"We want to be clear that we take all matters of student and staff safety very seriously and individuals will be held accountable for their actions," the school district said.
