Delta flight clips catering truck while landing in Sacramento

As a result, the plane was delayed by nearly three hours in leaving to go back to Atlanta.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A flight from Sacramento to Atlanta was delayed significantly Monday after grazing a catering truck.

According to Delta, it happened Monday on flight 904 as it was coming from Atlanta to Sacramento.

“While taxiing into the gate upon landing, the right wing of Delta flight 904 from Atlanta (ATL) to Sacramento (SMF) reportedly made contact with a vendor catering truck. The aircraft continued to the gate, and customers deplaned normally,” said Delta.

There were 178 passengers and six crew members on board at the time. No one reported injuries.

As a result of the accident, the outgoing flight from Sacramento back to Atlanta was delayed by 2.5 hours.

At this time, it’s unclear how the plane grazed the catering truck.
