Manteca police are investigating a violent attempted robbery of an elderly Sikh man after the incident was caught on video Monday.
At approximately 6 a.m., a 71-year-old Sikh male, while walking around Graystone Park located at 810 Agate Avenue, was assaulted. Police say two men confronted the victim and kicked him several times and spat on him.
After the assault, the elderly man was treated and released from a local hospital.
Police are investigating the incident as an attempted robbery. There are no indications that the assault was a hate crime, according to officials.
One suspect is described as an African American male in his 20's. He's about 5-foot-10, skinny and clean shaven. He was wearing a green button up shirt and jeans at the time of the assault.
The second suspect is described as 5-foot-6 and 140 pounds with black hair. He was wearing a white shirt and jeans during the incident.
