MODESTO, Calif — A woman was hospitalized Friday night after being attacked by her own dog near Modesto.
According to the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office, a fight between dogs broke out at the Holiday Manor Trailer Park along Yosemite Avenue. When one of the owners and others tried to break it up, the dog attacked her.
A spokesperson for the sheriff's office said the dog had to be stabbed in order to help the woman and free her foot. The woman was left with serious injuries and was hospitalized.
Animal Control ultimately took the dog away, but the sheriff's office didn't make any arrests.
