Tuesday 12 a.m. Update:
According to the Forest Service, the Donnell Fire is just more than 13,200 acres with only two percent contained.
The Pacific Crest Trail has been closed from Highway 108 to Hwy. 4, due to the proximity of the Donnell Fire. Over the weekend, the fire jumped Hwy. 108 at Brightman Flat and forced fire crews to "disengage from the fire’s intense edge
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announced they are shutting down a 22-mile stretch of State Route 108 due to the Donnell Fire.
In a press release sent out Monday evening, Caltrans said they are closing SR108 in both directions, from Eagle Meadows to the Tuolumne/Mono County line on Sonora Pass, with no estimated time for reopening it.
Fifteen structures have been destroyed by the fire, so far, and another 235 are under threat. No injuries to fire personnel nor civilians have been reported.
Sunday 5 p.m. Update:
New evacuations have been ordered for the Donnell Fire, which has now reached almost 6,000 acres in Tuolumne County. USFS Road 5N01 to Haypress Meadow including Eagle Meadow Road, Niagara Creek and Niagara OHV Park are under evacuations.
Sunday 9:30 a.m. Update:
Mandatory evacuations have been issued for Kennedy Meadows, the Highway 108 Corridor from Clark Fork through Kennedy Meadows.
Hwy. 108 is open for outbound evacuation traffic only.
Sunday 8 a.m. Update:
Donnell Fire has burned 1,750 acres and there is no containment.
Saturday 2:40 p.m. Update: The fire is now estimated at 1000 acres, according to the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Department.
All of the mandatory evacuations are still in effect along Clark Fork Road, Wagner Tract, Clark Fork, Camp Liahona and Sand Flat. Evacuation orders are also being issued from Clark Fork to Kennedy Meadows.

A new fire burning just to the southeast of Sacramento has forced some mandatory evacuations, is zero percent contained, and is still growing.
The so-called Donnell Fire in Tuolumne County has grown to approximately 600 acres, according to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Department. Mandatory evacuation orders were issued by the sheriff’s office, Friday, for the following areas:
- Wagner Tract
- Clark Fork Road
- Clark Fork
- Camp Liahona
- Sand Flat
There have been no reports of structures being damaged or destroyed. There also have been no reports injuries or fatalities.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
