Elderly man seriously injured after wrong-way crash in Placer County

The California Highway Patrol said a Toyota RAV4 was reportedly going the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of I-80.

PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — An elderly man was injured after crashing into the center median of Interstate 80 in Placer County.

The California Highway Patrol said a Toyota RAV4 was reportedly going the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of I-80, near Taylor Road, and hit the center median near Eureka/Atlantic Road just before 9:30 p.m.

Police said the elderly man had serious injuries from the crash.
