14-year-old arrested on suspicion of car burglary in Elk Grove

The teen was arrested and taken to Juvenile Hall on suspicion of 12 counts of burglary, petty theft and possession of burglary tools.

ELK GROVE, Calif. — A 14-year-old was arrested Saturday and booked on suspicion of burglary after a car break-in in Elk Grove.

According to the Elk Grove Police Department, the call came in Saturday morning for a car break-in around Lyndale Circle and Spring Ridge Way.

The caller reported seeing a person break into their vehicle and gave police a description after confronting them.

Officers arrived and found the suspect, a 14-year-old, hiding in a park. Police say the teen had a window punch tool and pieces of glass on him.

The teen was arrested and taken to Juvenile Hall on suspicion of 12 counts of burglary, petty theft and possession of burglary tools. Elk Grove police say additional charges may be added.
