ELK GROVE, Calif. — A man was arrested on suspicion of killing both his parents in Elk Grove, police said Monday.
The Elk Grove Police Department said officers responded Friday, June 28 around 2:15 p.m. to a home in the 9000 block of Crosscourt Way for reports of suspicious circumstances.
The person who made the report was the victims' son, 44-year-old Mark Navarrete. He told officers he went to his parent's home after trying to contact them. Navarrete said when he went into the home, he found both his parents dead.
On Sunday, June 30, detectives served a search warrant at Navarrete's home where they found evidence related to his parent's death. He was arrested and booked into the main jail for two counts of murder.
The names of the two victims haven't been released.
