ELK GROVE, Calif. — The Elk Grove Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying the car that was involved a hit-and-run and killed Edward Villasenor on Nov. 7, 2019.
The SUV was heading northbound on Waterman Road when it veered across the roadway for unknown reasons and hit Villasenor, authorities said. The car left the scene after the crash heading north on Waterman and then westbound on Calvine Road.
The Elk Grove Police Department described the vehicle as a reddish color mid 90's/ early 2000's General Motors SUV.

Police said the SUV probably has significant front-end damage that includes a broken headlight, grill or radiator damage and possible tire damage. The hood also sustained damage as well. The suspect might also be looking to get his vehicle repaired, sold or scrapped in the area.
The Elk Grove Police Department is asking anyone who has information about this vehicle to contact the Elk Grove Police Department Traffic Bureau at (916)478-8148.
Villasenor was celebrating his 49th wedding anniversary the day he died in the hit-and-run crash, according to his family members. He was bringing in his trash cans from the front of his home on Waterman Road when the crash happened.
