ELK GROVE, Calif. — The party returns to Elk Grove's District 56 to celebrate the holiday season.
On Dec. 7, the Elk Grove Illumination Festival will be back with plenty of vendors, carnival games, inflatable zones and even a food court and ice rink.
The festival expanded its offerings in 2023 with many of them returning this year.
What is the Illumination Festival?
The festival is a relatively new tradition for the city of Elk Grove. Only in its fifth year, the event has been the home of the city's ribbon tree lighting and the home of their holiday parade.
The festival is an effort to provide a gathering place for residents amid the holiday season.
What's at the festival?
The city has highlighted an ice rink, shopping at the holiday vendor village, holiday carnival games, an inflatable zone, food court, giant snow globe and pictures with Mr. Clause.
Among the highlights is the Holiday of Lights Parade, produced by the Elk Grove Lions Club. It'll make its way around District56 at 6 p.m. after the ribbon tree lighting.
The events runs from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at District56, 9201 Big Horn Boulevard.
