1 driver killed in three-car collision in Sacramento

The crash happened near the intersection of Bruceville Road and Sheldon Road, according to Sacramento police.

SACRAMENTO, California — One man died in a three-vehicle collision in Sacramento on Wednesday morning.

The crash happened near the intersection of Bruceville and Sheldon roads, not far from the Elk Grove border, according to Sacramento Police Department. Police said around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday the roadway was reopened.

Sacramento firefighters tried to save the man’s life, but he was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

Another person in a separate vehicle involved in the crash had non-life threatening injuries; they were taken to a local hospital.

The man who died hasn't been identified at this time and the crash remains under investigation. It's not clear what vehicle the deceased was in or what led up to the crash.
