Woman ejected from motorcycle after crashing into truck on I-5

CHP said alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

ELK GROVE, Calif. — A two vehicle crash on I-5 left a 28-year-old woman with major injuries when she after she was ejected from her motorcycle.

The crash happened around 8:53 p.m. on Saturday on northbound I-5 near Elk Grove Boulevard.

Officers say the woman was traveling northbound I-5 on a 2003 Kawasaki Z1000 at a high speed for unknown reasons. According to CHP, the Kawasaki crashed into the rear of a Ford F-150 that was in front of it.

The 28-year-old was ejected onto the roadway and sustained major injuries. She was taken to a hospital and is in guarded condition, CHP said.

Authorities say that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

The driver of the Ford was not injured and was released from the scene after cooperating with officers.
