NEVADA COUNTY, Calif. — Dutch Fire evacuation orders were lifted Sunday in Placer and Nevada counties.
The Dutch Fire is at 45 acres and is burning in the area of Lowell Hill Road in Dutch Flat community in Nevada County. No homes were damaged or lost in the fire
According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, the evacuation order was in place along Culberson Road near the community of Dutch Flat. Dutch Fire Zone 1 encompassing the Dutch Flat, Alta, Towle and Monte Vista is still an evacuation warning zone Sunday morning. For those who are evacuating, officials said Placer County Health and Human Services in Auburn is opening up the Maria Cordova room for use. The facility is located on 11434 B Ave. in Auburn.
The fire is 15% contained as of around 7:45 a.m. Sunday.
CAL FIRE's Nevada Yuba Placer Unit said battling the fire has been tough due to the "heavily wooded area, steep terrain, and remote location."
The California Highway Patrol said it will not be evacuating from its Gold Run office off Interstate 80 and will continue to patrol the area as usual. Click here to see if evacuation orders or warnings fall in your area.
