Evacuation orders issued in Nevada and Placer counties due to Dutch Fire

The fire is burning near the Placer and Nevada county line

NEVADA COUNTY, Calif. — Mandatory evacuations have been issued due to the Dutch Fire burning near the Placer and Nevada county line Saturday. 

The Dutch Fire is at 45 acres and is burning in the area of Lowell Hill Road in Dutch Flat community in Nevada County. 

According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, an evacuation order is in place for the Culberson Road near the community of Dutch Flat. Click here to see if evacuation orders are in your area. 

For those who are evacuating, officials said Placer County Health and Human Services in Auburn is opening up the Maria Cordova room for use. The facility is located on 11434 B Avenue in Auburn. 

As for the Nevada County side, evacuation orders are place in Zone NCO-E220 from Lowell Hill from Dutch Flat Powerhouse to Mule Springs, the Nevada County Sheriff's Office said.

Officials from Nevada County said those who require additional time to evacuate and those with pets and livestock should leave immediately. 

The fire has zero containment as of 6:48 p.m. 

CAL FIRE's Nevada Yuba Placer Unit said battling the fire has been tough due to the "heavily wooded area, steep terrain, and remote location."
