Omega Fire, Bumper Fire in El Dorado County now 85 percent contained

The Bumper Fire (67 acres) is located in Shingle Springs and the Omega Fire (80 acres) is in Pilot Hill.

UPDATE: 5:30 p.m.

Both fires burning in El Dorado County, called the Bumper Fire and the Omega Fire, are each at 85 percent containment, according to the latest number from CAL FIRE.

Officials say the Bumper Fire consumed about 67 acres of land near Shingle Springs, the Omega Fire about 66 acres near Pilot Hill.

Mandatory evacuations were issued due to the fires, but have all since been lifted. Forward progress for both fires has been stopped.
