Boarded-up house catches fire in Fair Oaks

Firefighters found personal property and a shopping cart outside and within the house.

FAIR OAKS, Calif. — A boarded-up house caught fire Saturday night in Fair Oaks, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

Firefighters responded at about 9 p.m. Saturday to a house on fire near the Cavalli Way and Sunrise Blvd intersection. The fire was put out and no injuries were reported.

Firefighters found personal property and a shopping cart outside and within the house. Utilities for the house were also shut off prior to the fire. A fire district spokesperson said it wasn't clear if the home was being occupied by anyone at the time.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
