CARMICHAEL, Calif. — A man was hit by a car and sent to the hospital Friday night in Carmichael, according to officials.
California Highway Patrol officials say a car was driving westbound on Madison Avenue east of Manzanita Avenue in the right lane when the driver hit the pedestrian. Officials say the driver attempted to stop after seeing the man at the last second, but wasn't able to avoid him.
The driver stayed on scene and tested negative for DUI. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with major injuries and is currently identified as a John Doe.
