FAIR OAKS, Calif. — A Fair Oaks stabbing suspect is now in custody after turning himself in.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, the suspect was identified as 20-year-old Alfredo Garcia.
He was wanted in connection with a stabbing that happened around 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Fair Oaks.
Deputies say they were called to a home on New York Avenue for a stabbing. Upon arrival they found a man with a severe stab wound to the abdomen.
He was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.
Deputies say the victim got into a fight with Garcia prior to being stabbed, and they found Garcia ran away from the scene just before they arrived.
Garcia was driven to the Sacramento Police Department station on Freeport Boulevard by family members around 3:15 p.m. Deputies took him into custody and he was taken to the Sacramento County Main Jail where his bail was set at $50,000.
