Fairfield man arrested for starting dumpster fires

Police were called to several dumpster fires at businesses on West Texas Street.

FAIRFIELD, Calif. — A man was arrested in Fairfield last month and accused of intentionally starting fires in dumpsters.

According to the Fairfield Police Department, it started around 10:45 p.m. June 21 when an officer was flagged down about a dumpster fire in the parking lot of a restaurant on West Texas Street.

A second dumpster fire was then reported in the back of a restaurant a few blocks away. Police say more fires were reported in the parking lot and in the back of a grocery store along West Texas Street.

Officers were given a description of the suspect and he was caught allegedly setting a fire in a garbage can in front of Anytime Fitness.
