Shelter in place lifted after accident damages gas pipeline in Fairfield | Update

Officials said a natural gas pipeline was damaged in a car accident.

FAIRFIELD, Calif. — Update: 9:20 p.m.

A call to shelter in place for Puffin Circle and Cascade Circle in Fairfield was lifted Monday night. According to Fairfield Police Department, the gas leak that prompted the shelter in place was secured by PG&E.

Power was temporarily disconnected for people in the area, but it's expected to be restored in about 30 to 40 minutes.

People living on Puffin Circle and Cascade Circle in Fairfield are being asked to shelter in place after natural gas pipeline was damaged in a crash.

According to the Fairfield Fire Department, Peabody Road between Dobe Lane and Markley Lane was closed due to a car accident that damaged the pipeline near the intersection.

The closure is taking place as PG&E looks into the issue.

In the meantime, Fairfield Fire Department is asking people on Puffin Circle and Cascade Circle to shelter in place.
