Solano County fire destroys abandoned home, no injuries reported

SUISUN CITY, Calif. — A large fire burned down a single-story home in Solano County early Thursday morning, according to the Suisun City Fire Department.

The fire happened in the 300 block of Line Street in Suisun City around 4:30 a.m. Suisun City firefighters said they were called to the area by multiple people and called on nearby cities fire departments to help put out the fire due to "unfavorable conditions," like significant winds. 

The fire destroyed the home, which was abandoned, and a nearby palm tree, according to the Fairfield Fire Department.

Suisun City fire officials say the fire posed a threat to other homes in the area but was contained by the 21 firefighters on scene over 90 minutes. 

Officials are investigating what caused the fire. No injuries were reported.
