RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — One person is dead and two others are injured after a crash involving two vehicles in Rancho Cordova Thursday morning.
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened between a sedan and van on Grant Line Road between Chrysanthy and Kiefer Boulevards. One of the vehicles allegedly drifted into the other lane, causing a head-on collision.
Officials say one person died at the scene and two others were hospitalized with serious injuries.
Roads were closed after the crash but have since re-opened, according to the sheriff's office.
It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. The Rancho Cordova Police Department's Traffic Unit is leading the investigation.
