Bad Yelp review goes viral

A Facebook post of screenshots of a Yelp review have gotten a lot of attention.

Nicole Earp wrote a negative Yelp review about the service at Wild Bill's Cheesesteaks in Folsom.

"The service was really bad basically walked by us and barely acknowledged us there," Earp said.

She says after she put up her post, she received messages from the owner, Bill Roberts, to take her review down and another message with explicit language.

"He started saying hurtful messages in Yelp and I got upset so I went to my Facebook," Earp said.

Her sister took screenshots of the messages and put it up on her Facebook which has since been commented on more than 500 times.

Roberts didn't let Earp have the last word.

He went on Facebook, posted comments including a picture of Earp's wedding photo with a caption, "here she is enjoying a cheesesteak after complaining on Yelp."

"I felt like he was trying to say I was fat and trying to shame me that way," Earp said.

ABC10 went to Wild Bill's Cheesesteaks to get their side on what happened.

"I don't understand the experience that they got," said Angel Roberts, manager. "I acknowledged them that I'm sorry I am training."

The manager said the owner is rarely at the restaurant but we spoke with him over the phone.

He said he was defending his employees and his business through his remarks and that he wasn't fat shaming Earp. It was a photo he found on her Facebook.

He also said he wished Earp would've talked to them to resolve the issue instead of writing a bad review online.

The restaurant's Yelp page is in the process of being cleaned up of positive and negative posts according to Yelp. An active cleanup alert pops up for visitors when checking out the page.
