FOLSOM, Calif. — Folsom police arrested a man in connection with homicide after a woman’s death of a fentanyl overdose last week, officers said Friday.
Officers arrested Dante Lamont Robinson, 20, of Carmichael on Dec. 8, at his home, according to a Folsom Police Department social media post.
Around 6 p.m. on Dec. 6, Folsom police and fire personnel responded to a report of a suspected fentanyl overdose at a home on Witmer Drive, the post said.
First responders tried Narcan administration and other lifesaving efforts, but it was unsuccessful. The 19-year-old woman died at the scene, police said. Her name wasn't released.
Robinson was booked into Sacramento County Main Jail and faces charges in connection with homicide and possession of a controlled substance for sale, according to law enforcement.
Sacramento County jail records show Robinson faces one felony murder charge. He is ineligible for bail.
Robinson was arraigned in Sacramento County Superior Court on Dec. 12, according to law enforcement. He is expected to appear again in court on Wednesday, jail records show.
“Fentanyl has become more and more prevalent in our community…,” the department post said. “If you or a loved one suffer from drug addiction, please ask for help.”
Folsom police said Friday all investigative inquiries into the homicide case are being directed to Lt. Dave Canepa at 916-461-6465 or dcanepa@folsom.ca.us.
