Man dies after being hit by a car in Sacramento County

The California Highway Patrol said a man was standing on the center median of Hazel Avenue, south of Greenback Lane, around 8 a.m.

ORANGEVALE, Calif. — A man died after being hit by a car in Orangevale on Monday.

The California Highway Patrol said around 7:50 a.m., a man was standing on the center median of Hazel Avenue, south of Greenback Lane. A woman was driving a Ford Fusion southbound on Hazel Avenue, through the intersection of Greenback Lane.

She hit the pedestrian and he was taken to a hospital where he died of his injuries. His identity hasn't been released.

The woman wasn't injured in the crash. The California Highway Patrol said alcohol and/or drugs were not a factor in the crash.

The crash is under investigation.
