FOLSOM, Calif. — The Harris Center, a performing arts venue at Folsom Lake College, will soon begin hosting its 2024-25 Broadway season. Here are the shows you can see in Folsom starting October 2024:
Come From Away | Oct. 22-27
“Come From Away” is based on a true story of 7,000 passengers stranded in a small town in Canada after the 9/11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. It was nominated for the Tony Award for best musical and won the Tony Award for best direction of a musical.
Hadestown | Dec. 12-15
“Hadestown” is a musical combining two Greek myths: the tale of Orpheus and Eurydice and the tale of Hades and his wife Persephone. It won eight Tony Awards in 2019 including best musical and a Grammy Award in 2020 for best musical theater album.
Dear Evan Hansen | Jan. 28-Feb. 2, 2025
“Dear Evan Hansen,” the musical that beat out “Come From Away” for best musical in 2017, also won the 2018 Grammy Award for best musical theater album. The musical tackles a teenager’s connections in a digital age and adult themes, including discussions of suicide.
It’s recommended for audience-goers aged 12 and above.
Annie | Feb. 14-16, 2025
“Annie,” the best musical winner in 1977, follows orphan Annie after a millionaire selects her to live with him to promote his image. As it turns out, Annie may have a lot more to teach millionaire Oliver Warbucks than he originally thought.
Menopause the Musical 2 | Feb. 20-23, 2025
“Menopause the Musical 2: Cruising Through ‘The Change’” takes place on a cruise five years after four women’s chance encounter in a department store. This comedy is backed by a soundtrack of parodied hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s.
Pretty Woman: The Musical | March 7-9, 2025
Based on the 1990 film of the same name, “Pretty Woman: The Musical” features an original score by Grammy-winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance. It premiered on Broadway in 2018.
Tickets are available as follows:
- Season subscriber renewals can be made May 28–June 17.
- To become a new subscriber, those packages are available starting June 25.
- Harris Center members can access individual tickets from July 16-22.
- General public tickets go on sale July 23.
