Contestant on 'The Voice' to play Folsom’s historic district Christmas tree lighting

Kristen Brown and other live performances will rock the historic district plaza from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday

FOLSOM, Calif — The Historic Folsom Christmas tree will be lit Friday with a variety of musical guests in attendance, including Kristen Brown, a contestant on “The Voice.”

The tree, in historic Folsom’s plaza, will light at 7:30 p.m. “sharp,” according to the website. Brown, a country singer from Sacramento, will perform directly after its lighting.

From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Historic District will be full of festivities including fake snow, a variety of live performances, a loose Grinch and more.

“Watch for the Grinch,” said Historic District executive director Judy Collinsworth. “We heard he is on the loose and headed to Historic Folsom to try to steal Christmas.”

SacRT’s light rail will be offering free rides from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. using a QR code that can be found HERE.

SacRT riders can receive a free coupon from Leatherby’s Family Creamery when getting off at the Historic District station, the website said. If SacRT riders board at the state on Iron Point Road by the Folsom Premium Outlets, they can receive a savings passport to the outlets, Collinsworth said.

Attendees can park in the garage at 905 Leidesdorff St. for a $5 donation request, Collinsworth said.
