Folsom police arrest 2 suspects in connection with arson, burglaries

Tyler Rosson, 23, and Devon Thomas, 23, are also facing charges in a separate incident where an AR-15 style rifle was discharged.

FOLSOM, Calif. — Two suspects in Folsom were arrested Wednesday after an investigation into separate burglary, arson and firearm crimes.

Officers with the Folsom Police Department arrested Folsom natives Tyler Rosson, 23, and Devon Thomas, 23, in connection with burglaries on Townsend Court, a home fire on Ritchie Street and a firearm discharge in the Briggs Ranch neighborhood, according to a department news release.

On Nov. 13, 2023, officers responded to a report of multiple burglaries of homes under construction in Townsend Court, police said. During the investigation, police found several thousands of dollars of damage done to the homes, the department said.

On Nov. 21, 2023, police and the Folsom Fire Department responded to a report of a fire at a home on Ritchie Street, the department said. An investigation into this incident later revealed the fire’s cause was arson, according to law enforcement.

“The pair were also linked to the negligent discharge of an AR-15 style rifle from a moving vehicle, which occurred in the Briggs Ranch neighborhood of Folsom,” a department statement said.

Police said Rosson and Thomas were booked into Sacramento County Main Jail. Jail records show Rosson was booked noon Wednesday and faces felony firearm discharge, arson and vandalism charges.

Jail records show Thomas was booked but do not yet display charges. Both will appear in Sacramento County Superior Court on Friday afternoon.
