Yager Lodge cocktail bar, restaurant slated to join Historic Folsom lineup

One owner said there’s potential the cocktail bar and restaurant could open by the holidays depending on the establishment’s build-out over the next two months.

FOLSOM, Calif. — An “elegant” cocktail bar and restaurant eyes opening its doors in Historic Folsom by the holidays, according to a community partner behind the idea.

Yager Lodge will fill the space at 727 Traders Lane formerly occupied by Escape Folsom until 2023, and it is the brainchild of Sacramento entrepreneurs Eric Rushing and Eddie Meehan.

Rushing, a Live Nation vice president, has been involved in several well-known Sacramento-area spots including Ace of Spades, Goldfield Trading Post, The Cabin, Tack Room, Holy Diver, Old Ironsides, Tank House, LowBrau and Folsom Hotel.

Meehan is the founder and operator of Please & Thank you, a music management and promotion company based in Sacramento.

Rushing said it’s possible Yager Lodge opens by Thanksgiving or Christmas, but it depends on the establishment’s build-out over the next two months.

“Yager Lodge is shaping up to be a very elegant cocktail bar and restaurant with Chef William Hartzell behind the menu,” Rushing said.

Hartzell is the chef and owner of Represa Grill within the Folsom Hotel.

Rushing said Yager Lodge will have over 20 cocktails made with fresh juices and ingredients on its menu and amazing drink-food pairings. The bar gets its name from Peter Yager who built the building in the 1800s,” he said.

“...I wanted to preserve his legacy and history on the street,” Rushing said. “I love Folsom. I’ve always had a thing for rehabbing old buildings and the history behind them.”
