ORANGEVALE, Calif. — One person is dead after an overnight house fire in Orangevale, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District said Tuesday.
"We’re heartbroken to report one person was found inside the bedroom during the initial search operations, and pronounced deceased," the first district said in a statement.
Crews responded to reports of a fire around 11:30 p.m. near Greenback Lane and Beech Avenue. The fire was in a bedroom and in the attic space above the bedroom. The fire was knocked down quickly and the cause is under investigation.
