FOLSOM, Calif. — A new Sutter Health facility is coming to Folsom.
Mayor Mike Kozlowski announced Sutter Health will soon begin construction on a 106,000-square-foot facility at East Bidwell Street and Iron Point Road during his “state of the city” address Thursday.
“We are currently in the permitting phase of the project with the city of Folsom, with construction slated to begin before the end of the year,” Sutter Health said in a statement.
The facility will feature primary and specialty care services, an urgent care center and diagnostic imaging, the health care company said. Kozlowski said additional features include a cancer center, surgical center and medical office space.
“The site will provide easy access off Highway 50 for patients and families in Sacramento and El Dorado counties,” Sutter Health’s statement said.
In his speech, Kozlowski acknowledged other health care advancements in the region.
Kaiser Permanente submitted plans for a four-story medical office building next to its existing surgical center on Palladio Parkway, he said.
Kozlowski said UC Davis Health will build a new office, which is the first of several projects planned in a 34-acre site at Highway 50 and East Bidwell. The project is part of the larger Folsom Center for Health, he said. Plans call for the office now and a surgery center and hotel in the future, he said.
A 27-acre site at the northeast corner of East Bidwell Street and Alder Creek Parkway will house a Dignity Health acute care hospital with 300 beds, a ground-level heliport facility and two medical office buildings, Kozlowski said in his speech.
Grading and construction are already underway for the project, he said.
