FOLSOM, Calif. — Folsom is adding another restaurant to its long list of eateries as Tao’s Hotpot and Shabu is set to open this month.
Tao’s Hotpot and Shabu is an Asian cuisine offering an all-you-can-eat assortment of meats, veggies, soups and several other sides.
The eatery is located at 510 Natoma Station Drive, Suite 100.
The 29-year-old owner, Taobo He, comes all the way from Chongqing, China, bringing very famous homemade recipes from his hometown.
“I have wanted to open a hotpot restaurant since I was in culinary school years ago,” said He. “I earned some experience by working at a few restaurants and then joined a catering business. In June of 2021, a very good friend of mine and I decided to start a hotpot restaurant, then I started to look for a location for the business, create recipes, etc.”
The casual dining restaurant offers all-you-can-eat for $38.99. Popular menu items include Spicy Beef, Chongquin style, Kobe beef and shrimp balls.
He told ABC10 he plans on expanding his business when this location settles down.
Tao’s Hotpot and Shabu is open for dinner every day except Tuesdays from 5 to 9 p.m. They have extended hours for lunch on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The restaurant is anticipating an official grand opening Feb. 12.
