FOLSOM, Calif. — The Folsom Zócalo plans to open its outdoor patio early 2024.
Patio construction, which started at the end of summer, has seen ebbs and flows throughout its progress, according to Zócalo district manager Eric Acosta. This is largely due to permits, contractors and being “at mercy of weather,” Acosta said.
The restaurant is located in Broadstone Plaza at 2739 East Bidwell St.
Acosta said the patio is expected to be completed “optimistically speaking” at the end of January 2024. At the latest, it will be completed at the end of March 2024, he said.
In order for the Folsom Zócalo location to open in 2020, Acosta said it had to delay large patio blueprints.
“We can finally open the patio we’ve been longing for since the one we opened with wasn't up to our standards and guest expectation,” Acosta said.
He said the other three Zócalo locations have “beautiful” patios; these include the midtown Sacramento, Roseville and Howe Avenue locations.
The smaller patio in Folsom used to seat roughly 40 patrons, but once construction is completed, roughly 80 to 100 customers should comfortably fit. The larger patio will also have an overhead covering, heating, segmented dining areas and opportunities to host private events.
“It’s going to pretty much double the square footage of the existing patio,” Acosta said. “Once completed, we’re hoping to kick it off with a really big party to showcase what makes Zocalo great.”
