SACRAMENTO, Calif. — ABC10 can confirm through multiple sources that Daniel Hahn has resigned from his job as Vice President of Security Operations at Golden 1 Center. Hahn is the former Sacramento Police Chief.
It's not clear why he resigned, but it comes weeks after a concert crowd breached the doors of the arena while in line for the Rod Wave concert.
It's been almost a month since fans stormed inside Golden 1 Center and left employees traumatized.
"For me, the most scary moment was when I heard on the radio that there was shots fired outside and not knowing where to go or what to do in that moment, and then seeing the people rushing in the building. And at one point being told to stay put, not to move," said an employee of Golden 1 Center who didn't want to be identified for fear of losing their job.
Many questions still exist about security at the concert, but the employee told ABC10 it's been known that Hahn is no longer with Golden 1 Center.
"I was made aware that he resigned, maybe around the 8th, around the beginning of the month that he resigned. We weren't told anything official yet, but it's definitely the hot topic going around," said the employee who didn't want to be identified.
The circumstances surrounding his resignation are unclear, but sources told ABC10 that Hahn likely chose to leave due to undisclosed disagreements.
Hahn, who served as the first Black chief of police in both Roseville and Sacramento, has decades of law enforcement experience. ABC10 reached out to Hahn but he did not respond.
The Sacramento Kings also have no comment.
The employee ABC10 spoke with says there is a planned security training for employees next week. They're hoping to get more information and receive training in case of an active shooter or needed evacuations.
