Former South Lake Tahoe city council candidate convicted of vandalizing partner's home

Kevin Brunner destroyed his then-partner's apartment less than one month after announcing his candidacy in South Lake Tahoe, according to El Dorado County officials.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — Former South Lake Tahoe City Council candidate Kevin Brunner was recently found guilty of destroying his then-partner's apartment last year, according to the El Dorado County District Attorney's Office.

Brunner also set several objects in the apartment on fire during the Oct. 1, 2022 incident.

Brunner announced his candidacy for South Lake Tahoe City Council less than one month before the fire.

He was ultimately found guilty of felony vandalism and felony attempted arson. He will be sentenced Oct. 30.
