STOCKTON, Calif. — A former Stockton police officer pleaded guilty to his role in a forgery and grand theft investigation.
According to the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office, Ny Tran entered his guilty plea last week.
The office says sentencing is scheduled for Jan. 2024. They say if Tran pays restitution in full, then he’ll be sentenced to a misdemeanor. Should he not pay restitution in full, he will receive a felony sentence.
Tran was arrested in November and was a Stockton police officer at the time. He was placed on administrative leave.
At the time of his arrest, the Stockton Police Department said Tran had been a member of the department since Oct. 2013. His arrest happened the same day that investigators announced another member of the force, Nicholas Bloed, was arrested on suspicion of multiple sexual assaults.
