SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Ginger Elizabeth Chocolates, a popular candy shop in the midtown Sacramento area, is opening a new location in Folsom. ABC10's Mark S. Allen joined owner Ginger Elizabeth Hahn at her store and factory to find out the details.
HERE ARE 3 THINGS TO KNOW:
- The sweet treats sold at Ginger Elizabeth's Chocolates are made on-site in the store's chocolate factory. Hahn also makes her famous hot chocolate at the factory, which was ranked as the #1 place to get hot chocolate in the United States by Yelp in 2022.
- Not all chocolates are candies.
"My expertise is going to say when the sugar content becomes 50% or more. Our chocolates are not that high in sugar but our candy, something like our caramels, would be," said Hahn.
Hahn also explained that in her expert opinion, a jam is also a type of candy.
"It is a preserve, which means it is preserved by sugar," said Hahn. "I would consider it a candy." - The new Ginger Elizabeth shop will be located in Broadstone Marketplace in Folsom. While there aren't many details on the new store yet, Hahn did say in an Instagram post she hopes to open a pop-up shop at the location during the first week of December, followed by the official grand opening before Valentine's Day.
