Police remove explosive device found in Nevada City | Update

Police said the area on Broad Street in Nevada City is now open.

NEVADA CITY, Calif. — The Nevada City Police Department said Wednesday the area is clear after they removed an explosive device in a vehicle.

Police said in a Facebook post the area near the 200, 300 and 400 blocks of Broad Street is open. The police said it was an "M-type explosive."

The Placer County Sheriff's Office also helped with the incident, according to the Nevada City Police Department.

Police reported that the explosive was not terrorist-related.
