A student attending Sem Yeto High School was arrested for bringing a firearm to school and possessing a concealed firearm Thursday afternoon. His name is being withheld since he is a juvenile.

Fairfield police said that a Fairfield police school resource officer received information about a student who was in class with a gun on campus around 1:45 p.m.

School resource officers Paula Gulian and Adrienne Quinn coordinated with site administrators to remove the student from the class he was in and detain him.

Fairfield police said when officers searched the student, they found an unloaded semi-automatic pistol in his waistband and a loaded pistol magazine in his pocket.

The student was then booked into Juvenile Hall for possession of a firearm on school grounds and possession of a concealed firearm.
