HUGHSON, Calif. — Hughson High School could get a $100,000 grant, a new scoreboard and an upgraded weight room — but they need help to carry them into the end zone.
The Stanislaus County school is up against 15 other schools nationwide as part of T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights competition.
The communications company received more than 1,700 entries from all 50 states and determined 16 finalists “based on greatest need and opportunity for impact.”
As of 11:30 a.m. Tuesday — the last day of competition — Hughson is in second place behind Inola High School in Oklahoma.
All you have to do to help Hughson is watch the schools’ Instagram video and give it a like. You have until 9 p.m.
Here’s what’s at stake for Hughson should they win:
A grand prize valued at more than $2 million including; a $100,000 cash grant, a new teched-out scoreboard, 5G upgrades, a game day experience consultation with stadium experts, a tailgate party, drone show and an upgraded weight room.
“This is OUR chance to win a multi-million-dollar football field 5G upgrade that will benefit generations to come," the school said.
