MURPHYS, Calif — A Fourth of July fireworks celebration in Murphys is getting pushed back due to the risk of fire danger.
Ironstone Vineyards announced Monday extremely high temperatures and dry conditions were delaying their Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks show.
Officials said the decision came after discussion with the local fire department and taking into account the inherent danger of a fireworks show. A new date hasn't been announced yet.
"We know how disappointing this may be for our patrons, vendors and community, and for that we sincerely apologize and hope it is understood that this is being done completely in the name of safety. We look forward to being able to reschedule this event and share lasting memories with everyone at a later date," Ironstone Vineyards said.
