Juvenile stabbing suspect turns herself in, Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office says

The location where the stabbing happened is the same place where a February hostage incident unfolded.

SONORA, Calif. — Sheriff's deputies arrested a juvenile accused of stabbing a man in Tuolumne County Friday after she reportedly turned herself in.

According to the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office, the stabbing happened around 8 a.m. Friday in the 21000 block of Phoenix Lake Road near Sonora-- the same location where a hostage incident unfolded in February.

At the scene, deputies said they found a man outside of a home with injuries from a stabbing. An ambulance took him to a hospital.

As part of the investigation, deputies served a search warrant at the home. During the investigation, deputies said a female juvenile called the Sheriff's Office admitting to being the person responsible for the stabbing.

Deputies arrested the girl and booked her into Tuolumne County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of attempted homicide and assault with a deadly weapon.

Officials say the investigation remains active and ask those with information to call investigators at 209-533-5815.
