SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Sacramento Kings are days away from the home opener of their 40th season in Sacramento. They showcased their new menu items for the 2024-25 season on Wednesday.
Golden 1 Center is shaking up the menu this year with eight new items plus a Kings cocktail with blueberry puree in a collectible cup.
Executive Chef Brien Kuznicki introduced a Thai curry chicken bowl, chicken gyro, and porchetta sandwich.
Even if the Kings lose, you can 'Light the Beam' but with a purple churro instead.
Kuznicki is embracing the theme of home-cooked foods for home court comfort with grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwiches and salted chocolate chip cookies.
“I’m kind of going with the classics, really going with that Southern comfort feel. It’s similar to how everyone feels when they come inside the Golden 1 Center, so I’m trying to replicate that with our food,” said Kuznicki.
Chef Kuznicki’s favorite creation this year is the beef dip with au jus featuring a roll baked in Davis at Village Bakery.
If you want your mouth to roar like Slamson, go for the new Cajun chicken sandwich — it’s got a kick.
President of business operations John Rinehart says they’re excited to have Farm to Fork take center court.
"We have our food program here at Golden 1 Center, which is very unique. 90% of the food and beverage we serve here comes from within 150 miles of Golden 1 Center,” said Rinehart.
After major success last year, the Kings Pop Up Kitchen will return, giving local small businesses a chance to serve up their specialty.
“It’s really your time to shine, to see what you got. If I were an aspiring chef, I would definitely encourage everyone to take a look and jump on it, it’s a great opportunity to see what it takes and see how you fair with 17,000 hungry fans,” said Kuznicki.
The Kings had the pop-up events last year at theme nights, including Black History Month, Lunar New Year, Women’s Empowerment Night and more.
The new treats will be available at all home games and select Golden 1 Center events at the Plaza and Bridge levels. The Kings' first home game of the season is Oct. 24.
