PLACER COUNTY, Calif. — A bicyclist was injured in a hit-and-run crash in Placer County, according to California Highway Patrol.
Officers responded to a crash Tuesday around 1:30 p.m. on southbound Crosby Herold Road at Wise Road. A vehicle hit a cyclist in the eastbound lane of Wise Road.
The bicyclist was ejected from their bike into the road. The person had major life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital. In a Wednesday update, CHP said the person is expected to survive. Their identity hasn't been released.
The vehicle that hit the bicyclist left the area. The car was described as a silver sedan. The right front mirror was detached due to the crash as well as possible damage on the right front side of the vehicle, according to CHP.
