Person killed in shooting at Lodi rubber manufacturing plant

Lodi police say it was initially reported as an active shooter, however that does not appear to be the case and the scene is now clear.

LODI, Calif. — A person is dead after a shooting at Holz Rubber in Lodi Friday afternoon.

According to Sgt. Matt Latino with the Lodi Police Department, the shooting appears to be targeted.

Latino says the suspect, only described as a man wearing dark clothing, came to the business on S Sacramento Street, fired shots and then ran away.

The person who was shot died at the scene. Police say there is no active threat to the community but the shooter isn’t in custody yet.

Latino says the relationship between the shooter and the victim is unclear at this time, and that there were about 100 people around at the time of the shooting.

The victim has not been identified yet.
