Lodi house fire kills 1, hospitalizes another

LODI, Calif. — A man was killed and another was taken to the hospital after a house fire in Lodi, according to officials. 

The Lodi Fire Department says they were called to the 2600 block of Magnolia Court around 5 p.m. Tuesday about a fire. 

Once on scene, they saw "heavy fire and smoke conditions" and pulled an elderly woman out from the blaze. She was taken to the hospital but her condition is unknown. 

A man was also found but died at the scene. 

The fire was contained to the two rooms it started in, but the cause is unknown. An investigation is underway.
