LODI, Calif. — A man was hit and killed while riding his bicycle in San Joaquin County Thursday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officials say the man was riding his bike in the area of Hwy. 12 and Interstate 5 near Lodi when he was hit by the car just before 5 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The westbound lanes of I-5 were blocked for two hours while officials investigated but have since been reopened.
It's unknown if the driver was injured in the accident.
CHP says they're still investigating and are unsure if DUI is a factor in the crash at this time. No further information is available.
