LODI, Calif. — Lodi Fire crews battled a 3-alarm fire at the city's Walmart on Lower Sacramento Road near Kettleman Lane Saturday.
According to a spokesperson for the City of Lodi, the fire started on the store's roof. The Lodi Police Department evacuated the store.
While no injuries were reported, at least one person suffered from minor smoke inhalation, officials said.
In a Facebook Post Saturday afternoon, Lodi Fire asked people to avoid the area as crews tackled the blaze. The fire was contained around 12:50 p.m.
While the fire's cause is still being investigated, officials say the roof of the store holds A/C units and solar panels.
Crews from across San Joaquin County were called to the scene as a precaution. Walmart issued a statement Saturday saying they would reopen the store but didn't say when.
"As an essential store to our community, our goal is to ensure the safety of our associates, assess any damage and reopen our Lodi store as quickly as possible." the statement said.
