Stockton man arrested on suspicion of arson after Lodi fire

According to the Lodi Fire Department, a Stockton man is accused of starting a fire in the area of South Stockton and Mission streets.

LODI, Calif. — A man was arrested on suspicion of arson in connection to a fire in Lodi on Sunday.

The Lodi Police Department identified the man as 41-year-old Francisco Castillo.

According to the Lodi Fire Department, the Stockton man is accused of starting a fire in the area of South Stockton and Mission streets. The city of Lodi said it was at the pallet yard of Pacific Coast Producers.

Castillo was arrested along South Stockton Street. He was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail for multiple charges including arson and possession of drug paraphernalia among others. Law enforcement is investigating the motive for the fire.

Another arson investigation is underway in Lodi along the 700 block of North Sacramento Street. The city of Lodi said the fire was at San Joaquin Sulphur. 

Both fires were extinguished with help from multiple agencies. No civilians were hurt in either fire, but firefighters experienced heat exhaustion in the fire at San Joaquin Sulfur.

It's unclear if the two fires are related, but both are being investigated as arson.
