JACKSON, Calif. — The driver of a logging truck was hurt after the truck rolled over while driving on Amador County's Highway 88 near Columbia Drive, officials with the California Highway Patrol said.
According to fire officials, the solo vehicle crash happened before 1 p.m. Saturday. At one point, the driver of the truck was trapped inside of it.
Firefighters rescued the driver and medics took him or her to a hospital, the CHP said.
The driver's injuries were described as moderate. Officers believe the load might have shifted while the truck was driving causing it to roll over.
The crash forced Highway 88 to close in both directions Saturday afternoon. By 1:40 p.m., one lane of the highway was reopened.
CHP officers expect to continue one-way traffic controls on Highway 88 until the scene is investigated and cleaned up.
