LOOMIS, Calif. — The new Costco in Loomis is set to open May 23, about a month later than the previously scheduled opening date.
With just a week until the opening, final preparations are underway. Loomis Town Manager Wes Heathcock told ABC10 the town and Loomis Basin Chamber of Commerce are coordinating a ribbon-cutting ceremony the morning of the opening.
The Costco is located at 4101 Sierra College Blvd., near the border of Rocklin.
It'll be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
There is a tire service center, pharmacy, optical department, hearing aids services and food court as part of the Costco. There won't be a gas station, though.
This Costco location is long-awaited after years of back and forth between Loomis and Rocklin. They reached an agreement to build Costco in October 2022.
"Loomis is looking forward to the Costco project completion. The retailer will be a great addition to the area commercial businesses as diversity in the marketplace adds opportunity for the surrounding businesses to be exposed to patrons that might not otherwise shop at the surrounding businesses," Heathcock previously told ABC10.

As part of the agreement, Costco will make about $3.75 million in payments to Rocklin to mitigate impacts along the Sierra College Boulevard corridor, according to the settlement.
This Costco in Loomis will not have a gas station, according to the settlement.
The 155,000-square-foot warehouse could bring more than $1 million in annual tax revenue for Loomis. It would be the largest commercial development in the town's history.
Nearby, a Costco in West Roseville is planned at the northwest corner of Baseline Road and Fiddyment Road. Costco already has a location in Roseville at 6750 Stanford Ranch Rd. near the Westfield Galleria at Roseville.
